SCREEN TIME On-Camera Acting Workshop
This acting workshop focuses on building on-camera experience through scene work which will be recorded, watched as a group, & discussed in a constructive way to analyze each actor's successes & weaknesses. Whether new to on-camera acting or a seasoned professional the Screen Time workshop will help actors of all levels grow more comfortable with and build skills for on-camera work.
Upcoming Workshops:
June 17th, 2026: 6:00pm - 9:00pm (@Northwind Lofts, Minneapolis) - $75
This is designed as an all-level class and is equally a great entry point for actors with little to no on-camera expierence, as well as, offers more expierenced actors opportunites to try new things and advance their craft.
Each workshop is a single session but actors may take workshops multiple times in order to continue to hone their on-camera skills.
Class Size: 4 to 6 slots (Class size limited to allow each attendee to receive focused attention & direction)
After Registration attendees will receive sides (script) of a scene & assigned role in that scene. Attendees will be paired up to play opposite one another in their assigned scene.
Scenes may contain strong language & strong emotions but will NOT contain kissing, any romantic physical intimacy, or physical violence.
Please have your role memorized & ready to perform on the day of the workshop.

Film is about the face; the eyes, the mouth, the emotion. This advanced workshop focuses on on-camera scene work centered on close ups of each actor's face which will be recorded, watched as a group, & discussed in a way to analyze the nuances, successes, & weaknesses in what each actor is conveying with solely their face.

This is an advanced acting class designed for actors with an existing understanding of the craft but is open to actors of all experience levels.
Each workshop is a single session but actors may take workshops multiple times in order to continue to hone their on-camera skills.

A curious glance. A fearful hesitation. An unexpected gesture. The power of non-verbal acting in creating exceptional performances can not be overstated. This workshop requires the attendees to come up with increasingly creative & story driven choices to communicate their character over repetitive scene work. Scene work will be recorded, watched as a group, & discussed in a way to analyze the nuances, successes, & weaknesses in what each actor is conveying in their performances.

Michael Winingham's on-camera workshops were created to help actors recieve insight and experience in crafting stronger, nuanced performances.
These workshops utilize Michael's 25+ years of award-winning filmmaking to give actors a safe space to explore more focused and often overlooked skillsets that can lead to more powerful and authentic on-camera performances.
Each participant will recieve a download link for their recorded performances, however, these workshops are for experimentation, analysis, and feedback and, though they are recorded, are not meant for use in performance reels.
